I am an Assistant Professor of Middle East Politics at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, and the Program Director for M.A. in Middle East Studies. I teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in international security, Iranian foreign policy and national security strategy.
My interests include international relations theory, nuclear non-proliferation, U.S.-Iranian relations and Iran's nuclear and foreign policies. My doctoral dissertation focused on the evolution of Iran's nuclear program since its inception in 1950s.
My book, Iran and the Bomb: the United States, Iran and the Nuclear Question is the first comprehensive analysis of Iran's nuclear program that engages with primary Iranian and American sources.
Dr. Azodi received his B.A. & M.A. in International Relations from the Elliott School of International Affairs, the George Washington University, and PhD in Government and International Politics from University of South Florida.
